When it comes to hair care, there are a lot of myths and misconceptions out there that can make it difficult to know what to do.
One of those myths is that you should never cold rinse your hair.
But this is actually false! In fact, cold rinsing your hair can be very beneficial.
In this blog post, we have set out to debunk the myth and instead discuss the importance of cold rinsing your hair and how it can benefit you!
If you aren't cold rinsing, you will be by the end of this blog... ;)
Seal It Baby!
One of the best benefits of cold rinsing your hair is that it can help to seal your cuticles.
Did you know that cold water actually helps to close the outer layer of the hair!
That means you get to reap the benefits of added shine and smoothness.
Are you a notorious hair colourer? Cold rinsing can help lock in your colour as well! (That means more weeks of enjoying your salon colour! Yes please!)
Are Keratin Treatments more your speed? Cold rinsing has got you covered too! Cold rinsing can help your Keratin treatment to last longer!
Boosted Benefits!
We all love a good hair mask, but did you know that cold rinsing can actually help conditioning agents and hair masks to work better as well!
Cold water prevents the loss of natural oils from the hair and helps lock in your hair products. This also allows product to work it's way into the hair cuticle.
Have I convinced you to start cold rinsing yet?
I'm fairly confident I have.
But for all my stubborn hot water babies, I'll let you in on one last secret.
Hot water actually keeps the outer layer open, which can cause your hair to look frizzy and dull (nobody has time for that!)
But if you are really not ready to switch to a cold rinse, I highly recommend that you at least reduce that hot water temp to a luke-warm temp and lock in that shine!
But don't take my word for it, I dare you to try cold rinsing yourself ;)
